The Seehaus München on Kleinhesseloher See is a popular excursion destination in the English Garden. It offers a great restaurant with terrace, a beer garden and rooms for various events. Of course, there is also a café and cake. If you sit in the beer garden, you have a great view of Kleinhesseloher See. What’s more, the sunset is breathtaking.
Beer garden and great restaurant directly on Kleinhesseloher See

The Seehaus includes a restaurant with very good, upscale Bavarian cuisine. There is also a very nice beer garden with everything that goes with it. The ambience in the restaurant with its Bavarian-style table settings and decorations is elegant and dignified.
Perfect ambience for festivities, celebrations, events or even weddings.
Thanks to its idyllic location, the Seehaus is the perfect venue for business lunches, weddings, festivities and events of all kinds. In addition to the guest rooms, there is also a pavilion, a parlor and a banquet room. The cuisine is seasonal, regional and homemade. Particular attention is paid to quality and fine craftsmanship, as well as to taste and visual perfection. The restaurant also offers a catering service.
Beer garden
The audience in the beer garden – Paulaner beer is served, by the way – is mixed, although the Munich residents with well-filled wallets are more likely to be seen. It’s still worth a visit, especially because the beer tables are set up right on the shore of Kleinhesseloher See. In the evening, you can experience a beautiful sunset behind the lake and its trees.
The history
At the end of the 17th century, there was already a small beer bar and inn on the shores of Kleinhesseloher See, which was run by Josef Tax. In 1811, Mr. and Mrs. Kaspar leased the inn and had a wooden lake house built in 1837. In 1882/1883, a two-storey wooden house with a hipped roof was built, which was first referred to as the “Seehaus” or “See-Restaurant Kleinhesselohe”. In 1935, the dilapidated building was demolished and a new wooden building with a lakeside terrace was erected by the Munich Land Construction Office.
It was demolished again in 1970 due to dilapidation, but operations continued with several wooden huts. It was not until 1985 that the current building was erected and put into operation by Roland Kuffler GmbH, who still run the restaurant and beer garden today. It was extensively renovated again in 2011 and is now the Seehaus Englischer Garten.
