\nEnglish Garden in winter<\/h2>\n

When winter arrives and the first snow falls, the English Garden is transformed into a dream landscape. In winter, when the meadows are covered in snow and the treetops are covered in snow, it’s best to wrap up really thick and march through the English Garden.<\/p>\n

Winter enchants the English Garden<\/h2>\n

Excursions in Munich in winter – in the north you can expect an idyllic winter landscape with plenty of peace and quiet and in the south a view reminiscent of Ali Mitgutsch’s hidden object books and no less fun.<\/p>\n

Sledging at the Monopteros<\/a><\/h3>\n

The little children have a lot of fun with the little hill at the Monopteros<\/a>, as shown in the picture above. This is a great place for sledging. The hill is sufficient for children of lower primary school age, then they probably need a bit more height to really get going.<\/p>\n

Lake Kleinhesseloher<\/a> in winter<\/h3>\n

Often frozen over, Kleinhesseloher See<\/a> offers Munich residents a real winter paradise. Munich’s ice stick shooters set up their rinks here, just as other city dwellers move in with snow shovels and build areas for small ice hockey matches. The children make tracks for sledging and have little sliding games and everyone else is out and about with sledges and skates. If it is very cold, you should take a thermos flask of tea with you or get a mulled wine from the Seehaus<\/a>. Incidentally, Munich residents sit at the beer tables by the lake and enjoy the sunshine even when the temperatures are cold. Nobody can be stopped in the English Garden in winter.<\/p>\n

Stroll across the Kleinhesseloher See lake<\/a> <\/h3>\n

If you don’t like it quite so sporty, simply take a walk around the lake. It shouldn’t be deep, they say, just deep enough for adults to stand upright. However, it is not advisable to go in thawing weather – last year they got a family out of the ice by helicopter. So – always stick to the masses and only enter the lake when it is open to the public.<\/p>\n

Feeding the ducks is actually forbidden because there are enough ducks on the lake and the population would otherwise grow immeasurably. However, only a few stick to it. It’s probably too much fun – especially for small children, when the ducks come swimming up in masses.<\/p>\n

Sport and play<\/h3>\n

The large sports and playing fields in the south are also heavily used in winter. Everything that is possible at this time of year also takes place there. This also includes a round of soccer in the snow.<\/p>\n

The Eisbach surfers in Munich<\/a> are not deterred by cold weather, they are all perfectly equipped with wetsuits and use the waves in any wind and weather. The English Garden in winter offers unique impressions.<\/p>\n

Seehaus beer garden in the Englischer Garter in winter<\/h3>\n

When the lake is not frozen over, the outdoor area of the Seehaus is closed. Inside, however, there is delicious food, hot chocolate and good cakes.<\/p>\n

Milk house<\/a> with gondola cabins for sitting in and warming up<\/h3>\n

Fun and good humor: The Milchh\u00e4usl has set up some gondola cabins for the hardy – with sheepskin and blankets. Sit inside, close the door and enjoy the mulled wine.<\/p>\n

The English Garden in winter offers a winter wonderland. At Fr\u00e4ulein Gr\u00fcneis you can enjoy the fire pit or warm up at the Bollerofen. <\/p>\n
