2 x insider tip: Enjoy sunbathing and the sunset<\/h2>\n

Right by the weir, when the Isar has little water, you can sunbathe in a very relaxed way. You can enjoy the sound of the Isar on the gravel island that then forms. <\/p>\n

Directly behind the weir, when the Isar has little water, you can relax wonderfully in summer. You can lie comfortably in the sun on the resulting gravel island and enjoy the calming sound of the Isar. Don’t forget your parasol as there is little shade. <\/p>\n

The sunbed is easy to reach by bike and is about 5 minutes from the Mini Hofbr\u00e4uhaus<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Similar to the Hackerbr\u00fccke<\/a>, you can enjoy the romantic sunset here in peace and quiet and let your mind wander. The view over the Isar is unique. Peace and quiet included. <\/p>\n

Isar weir in the northern part of the English Garden: Wonderful view of the Isar<\/h2>\n

From the weir you have a wonderful view of the Isar and the water. It flows leisurely towards the weir from the south and conveys a feeling of peace and tranquillity. Towards the north, however, the water roars down the weir and flows bubbling and foaming along the riverbed, washing around sandbanks, trees and banks, only to continue flowing calmly until the next small stone steps appear. You can cross the Isar here.
\nThe sandbank in the middle of the Isar is popular with nude bathers. However, the further bank on this side is steep and cannot be walked on.<\/p>\n

Small circular route<\/h3>\n

You can go either left or right along the Isar to the wooden bridge and do a short circular walk by crossing it and going back again. If you choose the path to the right of the weir, you are on the Isar island between the Isar and the canal. You will pass small bathing and barbecue areas that are popular with the people of Munich. If you choose the path on the far right, it leads along the canal.<\/p>\n

The Isar weir Oberf\u00f6hring in the English Garden<\/h3>\n

The large Oberf\u00f6hring weir in the English Garden is located approximately in the middle of the northern section. It is located to the east and is easy to reach via the bus stop R\u00fcmelinstra\u00dfe, line 187, but from the western side (U6 Heidemannstra\u00dfe) there is a short walk that leads through an idyllic part of the English Garden and takes no longer than 15\/20 minutes. No problem with the bike.<\/p>\n

Tip: not far away is the amphitheater in the English Garden<\/a> and the St. Emmeramsm\u00fchle restaurant<\/a>.<\/p>\n

View of the weir in Oberf\u00f6hring<\/h3>\n

You can cross the Isar at the weir. It divides the Isar into its natural riverbed and the canal. This is 64 km long and flows back into the Isar in Landshut (1). Directly below the weir is a small power station that is driven by the dammed water. In the event of flooding, part of the water is also discharged into the canal to prevent flooding.<\/p>\n

The story:<\/h3>\n

A wire rope ferry was operated here from 1896 until the dam was built. Planning for the canal began in 1918. In 1919, the planning went to the Bavarian Free State. Construction of the project then ended in 1924.<\/p>\n

Tip<\/strong>: the Eberle family<\/a> stands right by the weir on Max-Halbe-Weg on weekends when the weather is nice and offers great, fresh produce from the region. The strawberries are great. <\/p>\n
