If you get the right seat, you can look straight into the riding hall at breakfast, lunch or dinner. Children are particularly happy about this. You can see how riders work hard lap after lap to complete their training (accessible via U3/U6 and bus 54/58/154). From the terrace on the second floor, you can enjoy a wonderful view of the outdoor stables, the riding arena and the English Garden.

Café Reitschule: Prom meeting place in the 70s

The Café Reitschule is part of the University Riding School in the English Garden. In the 1950s, the restaurant was one of the largest and best-known venues in Schwabing, and in the 1970s, celebrities crowded in close to each other and held hands. And in the 80s it was a popular meeting place for students at the nearby Ludwig Maximilian University. Modernized in 2017, the new premises now boast an open flair.

Today, the café has a firm place in Munich’s café, bar and restaurant scene – the delicious, unusual breakfasts are particularly recommended.

Good for mom and dad

Parents with small children also appreciate the café, especially at breakfast time (it is too noisy in the evening). If you get a seat by the window with a view into the riding hall, sit the little ones on the wide window sill (with a tightly closed pane of glass) and let them watch the horses. And then has enough time to have breakfast in peace.
