At the MARATHON MÜNCHEN by Brooks, the city will be transformed into a running arena. The newly designed course is sure to inspire. For the first time, the one-lap course will lead past Sendlinger Tor and through the modern Werksviertel district, which will be transformed into a vibrant fan mile with live entertainment and countless food spots. Of course, the classics such as Marienplatz, Siegestor, Odeonsplatz, the English Garden and the Olympic Park with start and finish will remain an integral part of your run.

As every year, the start is at 09.00 am at the Olympiapark. In general, watching the race is great fun, especially in the Werksviertel, Leopoldstraße and in the city center. People line the streets in clusters and clap enthusiastically, especially when the runners pass by, drummers, bands and sports clubs are out and about and the atmosphere is great.

Marathon route 42.195 kilometers also through the English Garden

Approx. 4 kilometers of the 42-kilometer course lead the runners through the English Garden.

Tip: The best way to follow the runners is by bike

So you have enough exercise yourself and can accompany and cheer on the runners along the entire route through the English Garden.

21 kilometer half marathon – starting line-up at the Olympiapark

This year more than ever, the half marathon can call itself a real inner city course. A new feature is the start in the Olympic Park at 10.30 am. From there, the course runs all the way through the city to the turning point at Sendlinger Tor and back to the Olympic Park via Rindermarkt and Siegestor.

10 KM run

The new start in the Werksviertel gives the 10 KM RUN a modern and particularly urban flair. From there, the route takes you through the middle of Munich and past the top spots: Marienplatz, Odeonsplatz, Siegestor – the grand finale? An impressive finish in the Olympic Park. Fast, varied, unforgettable. #MakeItYours #RunMunich

Experience the marathon table as a team

Four runners share the marathon distance and discover the unique atmosphere of the MARATHON MUNICH by Brooks. With new, attractively placed transition zones, the relay marathon offers an optimal experience for teams of all kinds. The Werksviertel in particular, as the new relay transition point, will be a spectator magnet with a unique atmosphere. Start & finish is in the Olympic Park at 09:20.

The transition points have been chosen so that they are easily accessible for runners and spectators. The transition zones are transition 1 at Professor-Huber-Platz KM 10, transition 2 at Tivolistraße at KM 21, transition 3 in the Werksviertel at KM 32 and the finish is again the Olympic Park.

Note on the Munich Marathon

Between 09:00 and 17:00, the runners of the marathon and half marathon will be on the course. For this reason, several closures have been set up in and around the English Garden and in the city. Possible detour are also to be expected.

The best places to cheer

The best places to watch and cheer are at the Chinese Tower. Also at the Tivoli Bridge and at the Aumeister. Not directly in the English Garden, but at Odeonsplatz, at the corner of Leopoldstrasse and Giselastrasse, as well as at Odeonsplatz and Hofgarten, there will be plenty of cheering.
