European Bat Night – Bat festival at the Rumfordschlössl in the English Garden
A cheerful bat-themed festival takes place near the Chinese Tower. Guests of all ages can expect games, craft activities and lots of fun! Food and drink will also be provided. Admission is free.
Time: 3:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.
Mostly inaudible to us, they fly and hunt around at dusk and at night. They recognize every obstacle and even tiny insects. Find out how they find their way in complete darkness and much more about the life of these fascinating animals on this evening walk in the English Garden. With a bit of luck, we can watch the bats on their hunting flights and catch their calls with the detector.
Additional bat tour in the evening: Start: 19.15 – 20.45 hrs
Meeting point: Chinese Tower bus stop (Bus 54 toward Lorettoplatz). Canceled in case of heavy rain or strong winds; please check our LBV Munich website for the latest information. No registration required.
The Flederausfest will take place on August 29, 2026, starting at 2:00 p.m. and ending at 6:30 p.m. Admission is free.
