A popular kiosk in the English Garden is the converted former toilet house “Fräulein Grüneis” with an average of 4.5 stars on Tripadvisor. Don’t worry, it has nothing in common with the former!
Fräulein Grüneis am Eisbach – Delicious and homemade treats
Super cute, painted in green and white, with bar tables and beer crate seats, it’s really fun to take a break in this little “Swedish cottage” (it’s set back a little between Eisbachwelle and Lerchenfeldstraße).
The kiosk has been around since 2011. Over 50 tons of rubble were dug out of the disused toilet block to make way for the kiosk. The destination was a café with atmosphere, small and cozy.
Fräulein Grüneis offers snacks, homemade cakes, brownies (baked with a lot of love) and all kinds of drinks.
Care is taken to ensure that these are predominantly regional organic products. There are also changing dishes such as soup, vegetarian or something with meat. Sometimes oriental, Asian or Mediterranean. Often vegan, always healthy and delicious – freshly prepared and cooked with love.
In summer the house is in the cool shade, in winter there is a small stove with a corner bench inside to warm up and a table (one!) for those who want to eat in the Stizen. The cottage used to be a toilet block and was converted into a micro-café in 2011.
In winter, fireplaces are set up and mulled wine or hot apple juice with a shot is served.
It’s a great place to celebrate a birthday, for example, and enjoy a relaxed beer or cappuccino. And breakfast too! The kiosk can also be hired for parties, events or other celebrations.
Fräulein Grünei’s tip: the cappuccino is still made by hand and is really delicious.
