The Bavarian National Museum Munich is located directly on Prinzregentenstraße and is only a few hundred meters away from the Eisbachwelle.

An art and cultural history exhibition

The Bavarian National Museum was established at the request of King Maximilian II and is one of the great European museums. It is dedicated to the fine arts and cultural history and is a must for all visitors interested in art history.

The objects on display range from late antiquity to Art Nouveau. The beautiful building also houses the royal art collection of the Wittelsbach dynasty.

More than 20 interesting collections!

Known far beyond the country’s borders, interesting exhibits from the following eras are on display on over 13,000 square meters of exhibition space: Romanticism, Gothic, Renaissance, Baroque, Rococo, 19th century and Art Nouveau.

Then continue by bus 100 (museum line) in the direction of Ostbahnhof to the Königinstraße stop or take the U 4/5 to the Lehel stop, then continue by streetcar 36 in the direction of Effnerplatz to the Nationalmuseum / Haus der Kunst stop.
