English Garden “Parking and directions”
Here you will find a comprehensive summary of where you can park in the English Garden as well as an overview map “English Garden Parking” below with the parking options in the southern and northern parts. If you would like to take the Munich walk or the day tour through the English Garden, then look for parking options in the southern section.
In general, parking spaces in and around the English Garden are very limited, especially in the southern part.
The city of Munich has also installed parking meters around the English Garden. This means that there are parking facilities, but you have to take a ticket and pay for it. Alternatively, you can use the HandyParkenMünchen app from the city of Munich.
Overview of parking facilities in the southern section

You will find parking spaces in the license area in the southern part on Königinstraße and along Ludwigstraße and Leopoldstraße. There is also space for your car on Ungererstraße and Biedersteiner Straße. Also on Ifflandstrasse and at Tucherpark.
With a lot of luck you will also find a parking space in the parking row at Odeonsplatz or on Ludwigstraße.
“Recommendation of the editors”
“Parking space secured? Then the Munich adventure can really start now! If you park your car at the English Garden or in the city center, you’ve taken the first step. To make the rest of your trip just as relaxed, we recommend the Munich City Pass*.
Instead of queuing at ticket offices, you enjoy free admission to the top attractions and have your ticket for the MVV (public transport zone M) right in your pocket. This not only saves you time, but also money for the next beer in the beer garden.”

Free parking spaces at Seehaus and the Mittlerer Ring
If you turn off the Mittlerer Ring, well before the John F. Kennedy Bridge, towards the Seehaus (signposted), you will reach the Seehaus parking lot with parking meter and the underpass to Gyßlingstraße.
You can still park free of charge in the bend up to the underpass. Then turn right into Gyßlingstraße and with a bit of luck you will find more free parking spaces at the Hirschau beer garden – this would be convenient for a visit to the northern part.
If you want to get to the southern part from here, you have to take a footpath and cross the pedestrian bridge back towards Kleinhesseloher See.

Parking lot at the Chinese Tower
The address is: Englischer Garten 3, 80538 Munich. Access is via Tucherpark and Tivolibrücke. Please enter “Tivolistraße” in your navigation system! However, the parking lot is not too big and is usually full.
There is also an underground parking garage at the Hilton Hotel directly at Tucherpark 7, from where it is only a few minutes’ walk to the Chinaturm.
There are also parking facilities for cars at Seehaus München. However, these are subject to a charge. The exact address is Seehaus im Englischen Garten, Kleinhesselohe 3, 80802 Munich. It’s also quite a walk to the China Tower…
Parking garage at Münchner Freiheit in the Karstadt building (from there it is about 10 minutes to Kleinhesseloher See) Address: Parking lot Münchner Freiheit, Marschalstr. 1, 80802 Munich
Tip: Park in Maximilianstrasse and then walk to the English Garden
If you don’t mind the effort and drive into the city center, you can also park in the underground car park at Max-Joseph-Platz, in the opera garage at the Nationaltheater or at Marstallplatz (very small).
It is about a 10-minute walk across the Hofgarten to the entrance to the English Garden at the Haus der Kunst.

Parking facilities in the northern part of the English Garden
If you want to go to the northern part of the English Garden, you are more likely to find a parking space. Especially at the Aumeister beer garden there is still a larger parking lot available, unfortunately no longer free of charge.

But: there is free parking just before the entrance to the Aumeister beer garden and restaurant.
